KI PARK, KINDERMUSIK TEACHER
Ki Park has an undergraduate degree in Piano Performance from California State University Northridge and a masters degree in Keyboard Collaborative Arts from USC. She has been enjoying working with many children's choirs, church choirs, college choirs, elementary school choirs and music classes around the Los Angeles area. She found herself especially happy and fulfilled while getting license for Kindermusik. The philosophy behind Kindermusik resonates with what she believes in regarding the overall development of early childhood, and the contents and materials in the Kindermusik curricula are profound, educative and most importantly, fun for children and parents. Currently, she work as a general music teacher at Lincoln Elementary School and teaches piano privately and occasionally accompanies instrumentalists for concerts and student recitals and competitions. She is a mother of two young children and enjoys working with children in music-making class and hopes to serve her community further to enhance children's life and their families.
ESTHER YI, KINDERMUSIK TEACHER
Esther Yi was born in South Korea and came to the US in 1991. She had been teaching piano for last 22 years, impacting 4 year olds to adults for over 2 decades, but particularly enjoying being with children. She has has a Bachelors degree from California State University Northridge in Piano Pedagogy. She also was in Masters program at California State University Los Angeles where she majored in Early Childhood Education. She has a great understanding of children mind and musical needs. She had been searching for along time to find a way of using music with early childhood education. While studying the Kindermusik program she realized it was indeed the perfect combination of education and music for children from ages 0-7 years. She is a strong advocate of Kindermusik as a way to enhance social, emotional, cognitive, physical, linguistic, and musical development.
CAROLYN IGA, KINDERMUSIK EDUCATOR
Carolyn Iga grew up teaching herself to play the ukulele at the age of 4, and taking formal piano lessons at age 7. For a few years, piano took a back seat to the trumpet, when she became the Trumpet Section Leader for Hawaii Junior Orchestra, Hawaii all-state concert band, marching band, and jazz band. Carolyn earned a Bachelors of Music Education on the trumpet from the University of Hawaii and a Master of Music on the piano with a minor in voice and choral conducting from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She taught young children for Yamaha Music School and is a member of the Music Teachers Association of California. In 2000 she opened Neighborhood Music School, offering lessons at her home studio and in the homes of families in Malibu, Santa Clarita, Arcadia and San Gabriel. Her school was featured in the Glendale News Press section of the Los Angeles Times when 30 of her piano and voice students performed a recital at the Glendale Public Library. She oversees the Kindermusik at Neighborhood Music School in Arcadia with Ki Park and Esther Yi.
